Audiobooks - any change coming?

is there any chance the new generation or the new system will let me store an audiobook on my apple watch? it's the biggest issue I have with my beloved generation 1 apple watch...

And podcasts! Just pre ordered and would love to know how I can use my watch for non-music audio.
