Has anyone jumped into the HomePod beta via AppleSeed? I am contemplating after going full steam on the Watch, iPhone/iPad, and tvOS.

Prior years' betas of HomePods have been hit or miss, but wanted a vibe check before diving in.

I ran the 16 betas and currently doing 17. Not having any particular issue apart from my Hue switches work intermittently.

My HomePod Mini has Beta 17. Siri didn't seem to respond for a little while yesterday, actually had that issue across all my devices, but other than that seems to work fine.

Don’t do it. AudioOS 17 beta 1 has broken my hue switches on my lights.

Well, I’m reckless. I installed Developer beta 1, TVos 17 on my still-current Apple TV. I noticed immediately that the HomePods were both recognized, day after day. Then I tried a feature, and then some spatial audio. There was only mono. So, with my iPhone Home app, I went down to the bottom and restarted, Much better sound, but only from the left. Last week, I added Developer Beta 2, and I saw that the sound was better, somthing I heard faint spatiality, but not much was coming out of the right speaker. So I started by restarting the right speaker, and it worked. The two are joined as one, but doing one and the other seemed to work, the spatial audios great, and the speakers are not crapping out ever couple of days. Steady, good mono, stereo and Dolby Surround. So far, works like a charm.

I pulled the trigger on updating all my minis and HomePod (Second Gen) to tvOS 17. So far, no issues.

Just noticed that my Homepod automatically updated to beta 3
It usually needs to check and manually update

I’m unable to get the IOS 17 betas update on or in Home app. Stuck on the IOS 16.6 I have tried logging out of iCloud on all of my Apple items, rebooting, leaving some off while trying to update, etc. Just can’t get the Homepod Minis to update. All Apple items ATV 4K, IPad Pro, iPhone Pro, MAC Mini m1 are all on IOS 17 beta 3. I’m registered as a Public Beta tester.

I've managed Betas 1 and 2, but have seen nothing for Beta 3 on my Mini either. Home tells me its up to date.

Anyone having any luck getting the DB on an OG HomePod?

All my minis updated no problem.

Hi, if you‘re not sorted yet you need to uninstall the 16 beta profile first then register for 17 and reinstall the beta profile. It’s a bit of a faff but it works.

Any chance you could please explain or link to an explanation of how to uninstall the 16 beta profile?

Here goes…:)

Go to the home app and select the speakers and TV’s tab. Long press on your speaker, mine are paired so I have an extra step. Long press and select Accessory Settings, then long press on the speaker in question and then the profile should appear in the next menu list, select it and then you can remove it. You can add 17 afterwards and away you go. I have attached a short video, hope it helps.

Thanks but it didn't work for me. I don't see the "Profile" after the long press in Accessory Settings. Tried resetting HomePod, Removed Profile on iPhone and reinstalled 17, (iOS 17.0 (21A5277h)). Still No luck. Hopefully when the Public 17 is released this Month it will update. PS: Homepods did update to the 16.6 Beta (20M5571a)

Did you have the AppleSeed beta or developer?

Well the Public Beta is out. It wouldn’t update over the Developer Beta. Delegated the Profile, reloaded the Profile and still NO update. On iOS 17 (21A5277i). Home shoes HomePods on 16.6 Bets (20M5571a) So will play with it tonight and se what happens. One other thig that I want to try is to Factory reset the HomePods and them go through the setup again. Oh what Fun.

Think those build numbers quoted are incorrect
