Hi everyone.
so after all that's happening with apple and "new pro devices" i decided to breath some more life into my 3.1.. so i ordered an aukey type c pci express card (DS-E5) after reading that it is suppoed to work out of the box with mac pros 4.1, 5,1 and most likely 3.1 under el capitan.

the problem is: i can see a usb 3 bus appear in the system report (see attached screenshot) but connected devices do not show up. anywhere.

now i use aukey usb-c to usb-a converters.. they could possibly be the problem? i have no native usb-c devices here to test..

it shouldn't be a power issue, since it doesn't even recognize usb-sticks.. there should definitly be enough juice for them?

has anyone experiences with this?
im on a mac pro 3.1 running os x 10.11.6

thanks in advance!
gernot

you are doing better than I did - mine was not recognized in a 3.1 or 5.1 in 10.10, 10.11 or 10.12.

I returned for the abelcon usb 3.1, in my 5.1 under 10.12 it shows it a 3.1 device.
