I've been watching prices on the refurb store pretty closely in the lead up to WWDC, weighing up what to buy and whether to go refurb vs something released at WWDC. Was hoping for price drops in the refurb store when new models come out.

All of a sudden there is no laptop stock at all in the aussie refurb store ...
hmmm what's going on?

yeah - that's what i thought too, i wonder if it's the products that are being updated that are being removed from the refurb store

It's because they don't want a flood of returns once the new computers are released at WWDC. Imagine this scenario: you buy a refurb MBP today and five days later at WWDC, Apple releases a kick-ass MBP with quad-core CPU and ports and a better, more reliable keyboard and all of it at a cheaper price. And you think to yourself, why didn't I wait for that instead of buying this refurb five days ago? So what do you do? You return the refurb and buy the new MBP. And now Apple has to take your refurb and refurb it again and try and resell it. Again. You see where I'm going with this? It's a smart business decision on Apple's part. They simply want to keep the refurbs sold once they're, uh, sold. So hang tight; the refurb store will be fully stocked the day after WWDC, guaranteed.

yep - i'm a bit surprised not many people here seem to be taking any notice ... people usually hang off any info of what might get updated ... well - there's a clue for you!
