Earlier this year whilst I was still living in Australia I bought an Airport Extreme to run my home network. I have been extremely happy with it's performance and everything has been going well.

But now that I am back in the UK, I have been doing a little reading and it seems as though the way it is set-up for use in Australia might mean that it doesn't work so well over here. Some people I have spoken to have even suggested that because of the frequencies it broadcasts on might make it an illegal piece of hardware!?

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing or have any advice on what I can/should do with it?

One thing I have noticed is that my WD My Book World Edition II that I have connected to my AE and use as a time capsule, seems to time out when the various machines around the house are backing up to it.
