I'm not sure on that - I used the app, had mine in the baskets at 5:02pm, paid pretty much instantly as my card is saved in store, yet I'm still processing.
Confirmation email at 5:03pm

Brisbane
The reason I say that is cause HussRainbow had the same order (Space Black SS 42mm) as mine - got their confirmation email at 5:02 with a delivery of 5/25+
For me though - I got my confirmation email at 5:04 with a delivery of 5/12-5/25. If orders were truly on a first in, first serve basis based on confirmation times - that doesn't make much sense at all. But I got onto the store as soon as I could and had the watch added via my favourites - it was the payment section that I took more time in.
I can only see a few possible reasons here:
1. Orders are put into a temporary queue via the Apple Store app sometime between adding the item to the cart and payment - and secured after payment is made (or lost if cart is changed).
2. We're all referring to a confirmation email which
may not reflect the actual internal queue system - where mailing server latency can break this theory.
3. We're also working with 'whole' seconds e.g. 5:03, 5:04 – even within a second you might have 10k orders being 'queue' worldwide.
4. Apple most likely serves orders on a first come, first serve basis but would be on a national level (not worldwide, that would be logistical disaster). So once a model is out of stock for that nation - then they need to wait for more stock, even though another nation probably has enough stock to serve those in June (if that makes sense?)
Anyway! Still waiting patiently
🙂 Always fun being an Australian - we seem to Apple everything first
