For some reason when I wake my iMac from sleep I get this message "You must authenticate to unlock the the screen. Mac OS X reqires that you type your password." This never happened before. How can I stop this command? MC

There should be an option to turn this off in the Security pane of System Preferences.

Sys prefs, security, require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver

In the Security preference pane there's an option to "Require a password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver."

You might want to see if it's checked or not.

Thanks all, it worked. The funny thing is that I never touched this setting! How could this have been changed? MC
