Authorities Withdraw Search Warrant in Gizmodo iPhone 4 Case

The order doesn't say why the order was withdrawn. EFF reasserted that it was illegal, but no legal authority made that claim. It could be that the cops realized they screwed up and they're trying to save themselves. It could also be that the DA realized that cancelling the warrant could still get the conviction with a much less chance of an appeal, save some money.

Considering that his roommate, who knew next to nothing about the company, got all the way to the head of security, the answer to your question is "a rational thinking person."
That is all he did. He didn't go by Apple's campus which was a few miles away, he didn't turn it into the police, he didn't leave his contact info with bar management, and he could have emailed Jobs himself( with pics to prove it). Calling AppleCare was a lame attempt because they wouldn't be able to do anything with it. Just like they wouldn't if you tried called them to return a lost iPhone to a regular owner.

I'm sick and tired of seeing this guy's ugly mug next to my phone! His giant head makes the phone look the size of a matchbook. Why did he insist on appearing in the video? WHY?
Even if he's found guilty there's no way he'll see any jail time. It would be a terrible blow to apple's image if he did. Apple doesn't news like this right now anyway. They need to keep a low profile for a while but Steve's ego won't allow that to happen.

I challenge anyone here calling him ugly to put up photos of themselves. I bet you're not so pretty yourself. If you wouldn't call him ugly to his face then why are you doing it behind his back?
I've done modeling work in the past, but I can definitely look pretty skanky too, especially if photographed in bad light while I'm stressed and worried about other things. That describes most days for me nowadays.

this guy should not be allowed to collaborate on anything. he should sit in jail waiting for the trial for theft, corporate espionage and criminal stupidity.
