I just bought a new macbook pro and reached my max of 5 computers in my itunes account. I went ahead and deauthorized all computers in my itunes account to start fresh but I'm still unable to sync my iphone. The first message I get when I try is "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the Iphone...Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from itunes store?" When I click "authorize" and then sign into my itunes account, I get a new warning saying, "You cannot authorize more than 5 computers..." Any suggestions?

Call Apple. They will reset it for you. For me, it took 10 minutes total.

I had the same problem; I gave up & waited a couple of hours and when I came back it worked :)

If you have used up all 5 authorizations then there should be an option within your account (itunes) to Deautorize All. This will allow you to reauthorize your Mac.

You can only do this once in a 12 month period though

The same thing happened to me last week when I got my MBP. However, I just logged out of itunes. Gave it about 5 minutes, logged in again and it worked.
