Auto address in email choosing old deleted address first

When I start typing a name in the email address box, it puts an old address for that person, that I have removed from that contact's information card. I have to scroll down and find the correct one. There should only be one email for that person now. How can I get rid of that old address that keeps popping up first?

Hunt through the Mail's Finder Menu items for "Previous Receipts" and delete the offending address and highlight it and delete it!
