Auto brightness does not work

Hello,

auto brightness does not work on my 2011 Macbook Pro with 10.11.

I know that the hardware is OK, so I think its a software problem.

What can I do?
 
solution was to delete the file com.apple.iokit.AmbientLightSensor.plist
