Not sure if this is the right sub-category of the forum for this query but here we go.
I have a Mac Mini and a MacBook Air. My iTunes library is hosted on the Mac Mini and I use symbolic links on the MacBook Air so I can view exactly the same database and not have two different iTunes libraries. This means when the MacBook is off, I can leave iTunes active on the Mac Mini and play music on the hifi, and when I'm on the MacBook I can access the same library too.
The only problem is that iTunes can only be running on one Mac at a time. What I'd like is for a small application that I could run on the MacBook and it would do the following:
1. Remotely check if iTunes is running on the Mac Mini
2. If it is, close it
3. Launch iTunes on the MacBook
4. Wait for iTunes on the MacBook to close
5. Remotely load iTunes on the Mac Mini
This means iTunes would always be running on one Mac at all times.
Is this possible with something like Automator?
