iPad auto contrast adjustment during dark scenes?

Does anyone else get this? it's happening on my Air 2 and it's been for a while.

I actually see older threads about this issue. A screen shot won’t show it, basically during dark screens the constrast will auto adjust but it’s adjusts really high which washes out dark scenes.

I don’t see this happening on my iPhone XS. I’m just wondering if newer iPads still exhibit this issue.

Happens on my iPad Air 2, and I have always hated it, but doesn't on my iPad Pro 2018. Or, at least, I don't notice it.
