Go to settings>General>Keyboard. Auto-Correction is in there. Turn it off.

It also turns off spell checking altogether. It a stupid way to implement a spell checker.. But that's Apple for you.

Yes I noticed that too. Very annoying. Glad it's been fixed in iOS 5.

I hate that turning off autocorrect also disables spellcheck. What was Apple thinking?? Can't wait for iOS 5!
