Auto-enrol Applecare on uMBP starting before laptop is shipped

Hi All,

Just looking at my order for a BTO 17inch uMBP with Auto-Enrol Applecare and the Applecare has an expiry date of 12 June 2012, which means it started running the day before the laptop shipped on 13 June 2009.

The laptop won't be delivered until today 22nd June 2009.

Is this common?

I think it runs from date of purchase, mine Applecare expires on August 23rd, despite me not receiving the laptop until the 29th, I'm sure if you really contested it they'd extend it, but is it really worth it?

You're not really losing out on that much...

You can actually put in a date change request easily on the Applecare section of the Apple website.

Did a date change request and now my Applecare expires on the right date.

It is common for the apple care to start before the laptop is even shipped, I queried this with apple and they said they wouldn't change the date.

Count yourself lucky, mine ran out in May because they made a cockup, took me 2 weeks to get it fixed, they were pretty stubborn at sorting it out.
