Is their a program equivalent to AutoGK for Macs? I've tried ImTOO DVD Ripper and Handbrake, but the quality isn't that good and there are lots of artifacts that can be seen in the video. Anyone know of any good programs that can deliver the same quality as AutoGK?

Well, what were you ripping from? If it was a TV Show off a DVD then those settings are more or less standard... but if you are ripping a full movie and want decent quality, then I would suggest setting it to 1.4GB target size, or 1.5-2K Kb/s bit rate, mp4, h264.
AVI is generally considered to be poorer quality than mp4 h264.
