I've been using this since the last time it was posted here and I do like it. I like it better than the app library because with the app library, you need to know how an app is categorized to find it (unless I'm missing something). The easiest way for me to get to an app is to swipe down and start typing its name. After a letter or two, it's there for me to tap on.

The only problem I have with this is that I'm not sure how it determines Siri suggested apps because some of the apps on the list haven't been used in quite some time, yet the appear near the top of the list. It's definitely not a list of most recently used or often used apps.

I came from Android to iPhone when the iPhone 14 came out and I do miss the way that Android makes it easy to get to any app. They can be arranged alphabetically to make it even easier.

I don’t waste time organizing apps. Swipe down, most of the frequently used apps are there, if not type couple of letters, and app shows up. Personally I don’t babysit my phone.

I didn’t realize you could use more than one of these widgets and it would adapt. Clever idea.
Like others I rely too much on muscle memory.

I gave up on any organization beyond the dock and a few homescreen icons, as I prefer to see as much of my wallpaper as possible anyhow

I search and launch for everything else

Oddly my Siri Suggestions include a couple of apps I haven't used in weeks - Lowe's and Home Depot apps in particular.

EDIT: right after my post they are now gone :)

When I do a short pull down from the middle of the screen to get spotlight, I get Siri suggestions already. Most of the time, it's smart enough to know where I am at the moment and present those apps. Like when I pull in to Costco, the app is the first one on the list. Open and show my membership and right in the door to overspend. Ha.

Seems cool, but definitely not for me.... I already have my 12 most used apps on the home screen and everything else is in the library... I know exactly where each of my 12 apps are.

The Siri Suggestions widget intelligently recommends apps based on your usage patterns.
And the time of day, and your location, and probably other factors.

I don’t have an entire screen of Siri suggestions, but I have a strip of them. It’s incredibly handy. Each time I pull into a EV charger or a store, the right app is in that strip.

I've used this approach for over a year and it works damn well. It's almost what I want. What I actually want is the ability to just sort my apps based on Recently Used in descending order. Invariably, everything I want to use will be nearby.

I have had (one instance of) the Siri apps widget on my Home Screen since it came out, and it's absolutely uncanny how it predicts what app I need. I find I often get the desire/impulse/requirement to open a certain app, and it's already there right in the Siri widget.

I'm not brave enough to go for an entire Home Screen set up just using it though!

Using the article's method, I don't get the app's shortcuts when i long press.

Any ideas ?

I've been doing this since it first became available - I'd be lost without it!

All the apps I really use right on my "home" screen 😍

I've grown to know where apps are or how many swipes and pull-downs to get to an app (Pro Max iPhone). Sometimes I'll swipe down to access Siri and many times that Siri Suggestion will have an App I'd like to use at that time....evenings is Sports for scores, IMDB for watching TV, out at stores it might pick up on that Store App.

I used to use this, but the giant gap between the dock and sixth row trigger me. There's plenty of room for a seventh row of apps. Now I have less apps on homescreen and overall.

You won't, you get the widget's long press options. I never use any app's long press shortcut, since the very idea is an oxymoron. "Long" pressing for a "short" cut. Faster to just open the app and navigate.

I actually enjoy doing this... my home screen is a surprise each time I look at it. :p
After a while, it isn't much of a surprise. Using this method, I find that the app I'm looking for is there when I'm looking for it 90% of the time. It's more than just recently used. It detects your usage patterns. There are certain apps that I will often open at certain times of the day, and those apps are usually there ready to launch, and at other times they won't be, unless my pattern changes.

I've had, more or less, the same home screen since the 3g......this sounds awful!! 😩
Same, I have done my best to keep it as close to the original Apple layout as I can. No 3rd party apps on the main page. I'm a bit of a nostalgia type. It means I use spotlight a lot to get to my apps but it's a habit I developed over the years. I am the only one that looks at my phone anyhow so other than you, no one else knows I'm weird. Ha.
