Auto recover does not work!

I am using MSOffice 2011 (dont buy), i have autosave set to every 10 mins.
Word crashed (because its crap 😡) and the auto recover file was 1 hour old 😡.
I normally save regally because i know autorecover is crap, but i was so intensely working that i forgot for 1 hour. Now i have an extra hour of work to do 🙁

MICROSOFT, HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE AN AUTOSAVE?!‽

Anyone else have this problem? I have searched for the autosave files, found them and the latest one is 1 hour ago. 😡 🙁
