    Hey everyone,

On my TV I only have one HDMI port.

It needs to cater for a Mac Mini, PS4, Xbox One & a Wii U.

I've got a 5-way Auto HDMI switch, that works beautifully with the Xbox, PS4 & Wii-U. If, say, the Wii U is on & I turn on the PS4 while the Wii is still on, it automatically switches to the PS4. But using the same example if the Wii U is on and I tap the keyboard to wake the Mac Mini, it doesn't change, because the HDMI switch hasn't seen any alteration in the flow of power through the Mac Mini's HDMI cable that would prompt it to auto-switch.

What I'm asking, is if there's any software that can cut the 5V of power coming through the Mac's HDMI port whenever the display is not set to the Mac, or at least when the Mac is asleep? So that the HDMI switch believes it is off completely, and then when it's woken up again by tapping the keyboard, that power kicks in and the switch auto-switches.

I realise I may have made that far too complicated than it needed to be but I hope someone understands what I'm after!!

('Get a new TV with more HDMI ports' wouldn't be an overly helpful response...)

Is your HDMI switch an active or passive switch? What I mean is passive switches do not have their own external power source and active ones have an external power source.

An active switch may be enough to trigger a switch over with the mini as passive switches tend to draw power from the devices they are connected to.

Hey, thanks for checking, it's an active one though so that doesn't work I'm afraid :/
