Autodesk Smoke 2012 MAC

    Yes, many high end post facilities use Smoke. It doesn't really compare to Premiere and FCP. There's a pretty good learning curve to use it.

    Also, do you have 15k to purchase it?

    I thought Smoke was a program like Shake?

    I guess it's more like Avid DS?

    Autodesk Flame is more of the comparable app to Shake.

    Smoke is a finishing editor like Avid Symphony or Avid DS. It is pretty pricey and IIRC it's used a lot on high-end commercials and short projects.

    Finishing editor ? So this will not be the best to use for a project from scratch ?
    Would you say it's more capable then FCP 7 or Premiere 5.5 ?
