It was mentioned to me a while back by an experienced Mac user that not only does the drive not require defragmenting, but that Apple programs the machines to do something akin to a self-cleaning each week at a certain time, something like early Saturday morning.

I've searched this forum futilely for an answer. Fact or fiction? Thanks.
