I don't want to say I'm lazy, but I must say I do have a hard time doing backups. Is there a program that will do this for me? Is there something that will search through what I have done and what is residing on my computer and then back up that material to an external hard drive? Certainly someone must have come up with this, just wondering if it applies to mac? If there are several suggestions or comparisons I would love to know!

    Thanks in advance!

SuperDuper works great for local backups. It backs up my main drive nightly. I rarely think about it.

There are online backup services as well. I use Mozy. It runs in the background and I rarely think about it.

Or, wait for October and see if it suits your needs.

You can schedule .Mac backup to do everything. I use it to backup some preferences and settings to iDisk, and then my docs and emails to my iPod every week.

I am not sure if you need .Mac to use Backup, or its only required for iDisk.
