Automatic brightness not available in iMac 2107

According to settings Auto brightness is on, according to system report it is not (last line right image)????

Does anyone know if it works, I must say I have not seen anything happening like I do in Gnome 3 at dusk on my pc.
Or what is this setting for, maybe I am thinking about it wrong? I thought it was a night dimming feature.

System report is the same on my MBP "No", but the brightness does change. The sensor is right next to the Facetime camera, Try covering it up to see if the brightness adjusts.

Hey thanks for the tip, the cover-up worked and so did the brightness. Very nice feature that goes without much notice apparently.
