Automatic daily folder backup

I was hoping someone can help me with a simple task. I need to have a specific folder (along with subfolders) backed up daily to either a USB or external drive. I think Automator can do this, but I'm not sure how to set it up as a repeating daily task. Can someone shed some light? Or recommend a good backup program? Thanks

Carbon Copy Cloner or Superduper would do it, but it would have to be to the same external drive everyday, as they would be looking for that one.
