Does anyone know if dark mode is automatically turned on when using a dynamic desktop? In other words will it turn on at night and off during daytime if I'm using the dynamic desktop?

If not, is there an easy way to do this without having to do it manually?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, was looking for a dynamic way to see it without using the wallpaper.

So can you have dark mode and dynamic desktop both on at the same time? I was under the impression it was one or the other.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised that I can turn dark mode on in the day without it affecting dynamic desktop :)

If you use Night shift then shifty is good Night owl will change from light to dark without night shift

There seems to be an issue with shifty for me. It does not transition to "dark mode" automatically.
Under Preferences for shifty, I set it to follow my night shift schedule, which is "sunrise to sunset".
My dynamic desktop did transition following the schedule. Also noticed that "turn on until sunrise" is always enabled despite me "unchecking the box" and then rebooting. Any insights is appreciated.

Yes, I do on both.
BTW, I noticed on your screen shot, the Night Owl icon is on your bar. You mentioned that you are fine with both. Do you have a preference?
I'm testing Night Owl on another Mojave setup and will let you know. Thanks again.

I really like NightOwl but I use shifty if I use night shift Your welcome

When I updated to Developer Preview 11 on my MBP5,3 my Corebrightness was "reset" to the latest. So I do not have night shift feature on it right now. Good opportunity for me to test Night Owl.

In your opinion, is night shift "really helpful"?

Thanks @TimothyR734.

Night shift is for those who don't like the brightness colors while reading at night, If you want Night shift back in stall the night shift patch from the patch updater in your utilities folder
