Is there a way to use automater or applescript or something to make a single folder on my system RW for everyone so i can drag files to it and they will be converted to RW automatically?? I want to do this with new files so i dont want to jsut change the permissions on the folder because I dont want to have to do that everytime i add a new file. I am a beginner to applescript and automater so as much help as possibly would be appreciated. Thanks!

I found a video tutorial for the purpose. I don't know why anyone would make a programming guide as a video, but regardless I've transcribed the AppleScript from the video and attached it to this message.

Sounds like you just need to use your /Users/Shared folder.

I agree. Changing the permission on folders for all read/write compromises the security of the machine. Using a shared area, which Apple does is the better way, or use an external drive that you can share.
