Does anyone know of a way that I can be automatically notified that a particular store I'm shopping in accepts Apple Pay so that I can use it when checking out?

I like using Apple Pay and I try to do so whenever possible, but I've found that on a number of occasions I've use traditional methods of payment (e.g. cash, credit) because I was unaware that the store I was shopping in accepted Apple Pay.

I guess I could add a few dozen frequently shopped at Apple Pay authorized merchants to my list of contacts, and then set up Geofenced Reminders nudging me to use Apple pay when checking out, but that seems a little bit long-winded and potentially problematic.

Anyone else have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Here are three simple suggestions...

1. Look for the little wireless symbol on the checkout terminal.
2. Put your iPhone next to the terminal and see if Apple Pay pops up.
3. Ask the cashier if you can pay with your phone.

You're kind of missing the point...

I'm not going to go through steps 1-3 in every single store I buy something at day after day, week after week... I've typically used Apple Pay at stores I know I can use Apple Pay. But I'd definitely be using it a whole lot more if I could be notified before I try to pay that the store I'm trying to buy something at accepts it.

I've done my best to engrain this list in my mind so that I can remember more frequently, but the list of Apple Pay merchants is growing regularly, and it just seems like it makes sense to have some way of being notified at the appropriate time.
