Automatically mark messages as read in Trash

Dear all,

Is there a setting in the mail app or a script which is marking all mails moved to the trash as read? Many thanks.

No setting that I know of. There's a menu command, Mailbox>Mark All Messages as Read. You could just use that while viewing the Trash folder or create a keyboard combination specifically for Mail to invoke it while viewing the Trash folder.
