Hello - I have a 32gb iPhone 5s and continue to notice this issue with iCloud syncing: even if a photo streams from my iOS device to iCloud and appears in the Photos app on my iMac (from iCloud), it still appears on my device. Even worse, it is difficult to remove these photos. To remove them, usually I would open the Photos app and manually sync my device using the USB cable. Unfortunately these photos do not want to be synced and since they are already on my computer. My workaround has been to open the Image Capture app and remove them from there.
Is there an easier way to do this that I am missing? I feel like the old iPhoto app handled iCloud syncing better...
