I check my gmail accounts in Mail, and I frequently have to mark messages as spam (locally). I'd like to know if there is a way to automatically send a "report as spam" command to my gmail account each time, so that gmail's filters will catch future spams from that source and Mail doesn't have to.

Thank you.

in mail.app select the message and then 'move to' the spam imap folder, that will report the email as spam and also move the email to the spam folder in web gmail where it will be deleted after 30 days.

imap

thanks for the tip... but I do not see a spam imap. how do I find this or set this up with my account?

thanks again
