Today I spilled a little water on my Macbook Pro (OS X Lion 10.7.5). Nothing happened immediately so I wiped it up and thought nothing of it.
About an hour later the screen brightness graphic showed up on my screen, even though I never touched f2. I pressed f2 and found it doesn't work. (f1 does work though.)
So I shut it down and turned it back on again, and it automatically ran Apple Hardware Test. I did the test and it returned "No trouble found". I started it up again and I got Apple Hardware test again. I understand that you usually run AHT by holding "d" during startup. I held option during startup and finally got to my desktop and found the following problems with my keyboard:
-f2 doesn't work
-2 works, but @ only works with the left shift button
-w works, but capital W only works with the left shift button
-s and x are the same as w
Perhaps the water is causing a short that makes me lose only some keyboard functionality? Do you think that it's causing the "d" key to be "depressed" during startup and thus running AHT? What can I do about this?
