between flesh and thought
Hi

I am looking to take advantage of the powerful tool of Automator to further streamline my photo editing workflow.

Specifically I would like to streamline my batch editing process.

Right now I divide my images up into 9 different groups for batching different sets of actions.

My Current workflow is thus.

In photoshop Cs3,

File-automate-batch,

1.I select the set.

2.I select the action.

3.I choose the source folder, (1 of the 9 groups of images).

I hit ok.

When the process is finished I do it again till I have gone through all 9 groupings.

All files are saved to the same folder.

I then import those images into Lightroom.

Is there a way to get automator to do this for me?

I've never used automator before but it seems this is what it was designed to do.

I'd love some help.

Cheers!

Sounds exactly like automator; you need to grab files onto it 'get specified finder items'. Then open your application from automator, open them files from automator application etc, perform the action. You'll need to download photoshop / adobe workflow automator actions. And save the results from automator; (render on my old mac).
Hope this helps, search youtube for some tutorials; must be some out there.
