I'd like Automator to automatically close (not quit) the SlingShot application on boot.

Can you please help me with this? TIA.

Why don't you just hide it using Login Items of the user pref pane?

Is SlingShot even in the Login Items? If it is, then r.j.s's approach will work great. If not, is it AppleScriptable? You can find out by opening Script Editor, choosing Open Dictionary... from the File menu, and finding the SlingShot application. AppleScriptable apps can generally have their windows closed via script, which is exactly what you need to do here.

Thanks r.j.s - I didn't know about that feature. Works perfectly.
