I'm trying to set up a workflow in Automator. Basically, I want to scan my Downloads folder for videos, and then send them to specific folders in my backup volume based on their name. I've set up everything, and it should work fine, except that if there are NO FILES found by the "Find Finder Items" action, then nothing gets passed along to the "Move Finder Items" action, and the workflow stops. Ideally, I'd like Automator to just ignore if there are no files matching one set of criteria, then move on to searching for files matching the next set.

Apparently, this has been an issue since Leopard (running Snow Leopard right now). Do any of you guys have a solution to this?

I've done some searching around the web, and it seems that the Tiger move action works just fine (according to what I need). If I can copy this into the Automator library, it should work. Would any of you guys running Tiger be willing to send me this file? It's /System/Library/Automator/Move Finder Items.action

Is asking for a file on these forums against the rules? Sorry if it is!

Could you have it Find all the file types first then start the move? Im not on my mac right now so I cant tell but I find automator a big pita for doing simple stuff...

I haven't been able to figure out how to do that, if it is possible. As far as I'm aware, if I want to send files to different folders, based on their name, I have to set up a different move action after every find action... kind of annoying but not unbearable if it actually WORKED. ugh
