Hi guys,
since a couple of weeks the App "Auto Update" asks me a password. Not sure if happens because of OS X yosemite, but has never happened with OS X mavericks.

I always declined...because I do not know what it is, and after that, this is what i find in the trash

do you guys know what is it?

thanks

Do you have Java or MS Office installed ? One of those might be it.

A good way to find out is by putting it back.

Right click on the item in the trash and select put back.

It will return to it's native folder. Then you can see what it's associated with.

I had the same problem...

It's been happening to me the past few weeks. It would ask me for my password... I would just hit cancel and it would appear in my trash. I've searched google for "Autoupdate(1.6)" and this is the only post I've seen. Is this some phishing scheme or malware? My autoupdate for Microsoft Office is a different version than this. Has anyone else experienced this?
