Aux -> Headphone jack charging?

I need a new car radio and decided that the best solution would be to buy one with an Aux connection and buy a lead to connect to the headphone jack (feel free to suggest alternative solution) Will this still charge the iPhone? Even though its going through the headphone jack??

No sir. You would need either the above setup + an iPhone compatible charger OR a sound system that inputs from the 30 pin connector on the bottom of the phone.

So what, in your opinion, would be the best solution, bearing in mind I need a new radio anyway?

Also need something which I can talk handsfree with and will charge my iphone?

Probably headphone jack for audio and car charger for charging.
