Availability of X in store / pre-order question

Obviously in very short supply but see below...

My question is will that shipping window continue to crawl if people who didn't pre order yet? It says 5-6 weeks right now but I was hoping to try one in person next week to make my final decision.

Also, shot in the dark, do stores get a few here and there at times with the chance I could walk in and get one (preferably before Christmas)?

Doesn't seem like it's gonna get any more delayed, it'll stay at 5-6 weeks until supply improves.

I’m sure sites like istocknow will help, you just will need to develop a plan to scope out the stock where you can and act. It will take a lot of work (we’ve all been there) so staying up/getting up @ 3 AM EST to have a ‘fairer’ shot is not that bad otherwise.

Don’t forget the carriers and Best Buy as well, I believe Target may start getting them as well.
