Avatars not showing up?

I just noticed that no avatars are showing up, not even arn's.

I'd guess that avatars have been disabled temporarily to help ease the burden on the servers – MacRumors is likely getting a lot of traffic at the moment due to the Steve Jobs news.

I've no idea, the forums have had a few glitches with all the traffic over the last couple days.

They pulled the avatars down when the iPhone 4S was released, then they were put back up for a short while, before being taken back down because of Steve's passing away...

The only real bummer is that I had changed my 'tar to be a tribute to Steve - oh well.
