I just noticed that no avatars are showing up, not even arn's.
I'd guess that avatars have been disabled temporarily to help ease the burden on the servers – MacRumors is likely getting a lot of traffic at the moment due to the Steve Jobs news.
I thought it was out of respect to Steve. Server load makes more sense though.
Let's call it both.
Are they still meant to be disabled?
What are the little arrows about next to the 'tar's?
I've no idea, the forums have had a few glitches with all the traffic over the last couple days.
They pulled the avatars down when the iPhone 4S was released, then they were put back up for a short while, before being taken back down because of Steve's passing away...
Those gods, demi-gods, and hemisemidemi-gods do seem a bit naked without their avatars.
you have no idea
Just as long as no pictures are being circulated of us in our naked glory, I'll struggle on through this 'tar-less period.
It's a bit difficult to easily spot my favorite posters right now.
I couldn't agree more. It's amazing how many members I know by their 'tar rather than by their name.
How about the goddess'? Are they naked as well?
It funny. Tapatalk still has avatars.
Here's my avatar in full size glory....
All are metaphorically naked. I was noting how quickly one identifies with the presence of avatars; it alters the quality of the discussion to have them absent.
I feel incomplete without my avatar.
Here you go! Feel a bit better?
Sorry, I tried.
Hey man, don't ruin my fun. Please feel free to continue circulating my naked glory everyone.
The only real bummer is that I had changed my 'tar to be a tribute to Steve - oh well.
