I got it to work for me today. Follow the guide in the above link. I think mine was chapter 35 as well. It works with a direct chapter download. If you are only seeing chapters 1 - 20 hold down the alt button and manually put the correct chapter number in.

I just bought a 55 inch LED-backlit LCD... It's not 3D.

I'm sure, there are tons of non-3D, average panel TVs....I did say at some point you will have it. 2/4 of ours are 3D, do we watch it, not really. Do I play games in it, sometimes, but not really; it's there nonetheless.

I ripped my DVD to get a copy. I was referring to one that is seen by iCloud as being "legit".

As for 3D, I'll stick to my original comment.

oh, iCloud legit-ness....I wondered how that worked. I've not mucked with it at all.

Just an FYI everyone. Avengers seems to work using the CLI version. I've been a Ubuntu user for years and handbrake always worked easily using the GUI or CLI. Had the same crashing problem on my Mac…used the CLI…seems to be working now. Couldn't get past the first chapter now I'm on chapter 11…no probs. give it a try. CLI instructions are on the handbrake documentation page. Good luck!

In addition; make sure your power saver settings are configured to never while plugged in. It goes I stand by and screws up your encode.

This is ridicoulous. Good lord. just use open source title specific. Has nothing to do with chapters.

simple:

1. watch the source and note the *title* number.

2. use open source title specific in hb and input the title number. This will prevent HB from scanning all of the fake titles and only scan the one that it legit.

3. Encode and profit.

Done deal. This type of fake titles as a protection scheme has been around for years.

I had to chime in: first, there are two ways to get a legit digital copy. Buy one, or make one. Two, you will have a 3D TV at some point in time, regardless of what you think now, unless you are a < 40" kind of person. :p:D

That's funny now that 3D for home is all but dead in the USA with about the only "TVs" supporting it being projectors at this point. NO ONE will be watching 3D whether they like it or not when their 3D TVs die. I just got an Epson 3100 projector and I've been going nuts buying dozens of 3D movies in the past month.

FWIW, I can't backup my Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 3D Blu-Ray. The drive just spins and spins and spins (MakeMKV eventually says it has some kind of "uncorrectable" error and it usually won't even pop up in the Mac OS (sometimes after many tries). It's weird since the first time I tried it the disc showed up and MakeMKV got to the list to extract but then failed with 11 errors. Since then, it won't even load up the disc. My PS4 plays the 3D disc just fine (haven't watched it the whole way through yet, but it showed no signs of issues watching the first 15 minutes). I'm using a Memorex BD drive and I've backed up 41 3D movies thus far (they will play off hard drive with a Windows based Kodi system so you don't have to worry about getting fingerprints or scratches on your disc) and hundreds of 2D BDs I've purchased to use with Kodi (discs then sit on the shelf) so it seems this disc is "different" somehow. There's either a tiny error the PS4 ignores or its rigged somehow (which makes little sense since you can't play it on the Mac directly with a software player if it won't even recognize the disc). My brother also owns this 3D movie so I'll have to have him bring his disc and see if it can read it at some point.
