 I have a MacBook, upgraded to Leopard. I have iDVD, iMovie, Toast8, Handbrake, Divx, etc... and I can't seem to get my AVI movie even to view, more or less burn to DVD. I can't even drop the file into ANY of the afore mentioned programs... HELP!? :(

Does VLC play it?

It opens the file, it doesn't show anything though. It says "No suitable decoder module, VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this." But, the file is an .avi file....

Hi ConfusedMac

.avi files are a Microsoft invention and are not directly supported on Mac.

Somewhat similarly, .mov files are an Apple invention and are not directly supported on Windows.

Some programs will work with .avi directly, but you'e probably better off converting them to .mov files.

Here's a good page on the subject:

Perian is a Quicktime component that can help you do this:

Good Luck,
