I'm new to this, and struggling. I'm trying to use ilife to edit/burn avi files. When I try dragging a 700MB avi file into imovie it says that there is not enough space to import. When I try dragging it into idvd and try to preview it - the window appears black. What can I do to make this work? Thank you in advance for any advice.

If you just want to be able to view the video on your DVD player (or whatever) and not edit it, then just use ffmpegX to convert it to a DVD (well to a VIDEO_TS folder, then you just burn it on a DVD).

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
