    Hey! I have a 2.93 Intel Core i7, 16gb iMac, Version 10.6.8. (bought about a year ago.)

A simple .avi will not play on my computer.

Perian did not work, and I cannot seem to find the correct codex!

I downloaded VideoSpec, and it plays perfectly. Here is the report:

I know this should be playing fine in quicktime, because my girlfriend bought the identical computer as me, and the file plays completely fine on her mac. I need this to work on quicktime, because I am using this file to edit in final cut, so merely playing this on VLC or another program does not help me... and it's crazy because it works completely fine on her Mac.

    Someone please help!!!

    Thank you!!!

Since I upgraded to Lion AVI files won’t play in Quicktime but will play in VLC Player. I don;t like using VLC but try that.
