Do a search for ffmpegx. It works great, has a million and one settings to fine-tune things (or a simple interface, if you prefer)... and is free.

i got it but it wants me to download certain codecs for it to work properly..i got 2 of them but one "mpeg2enc" i have problems locating...any ideas where to find it?
