Is anyone here using both an AW S3 and Powerbeats 3? I'm asking because during my workouts I will occasionally hear the 'headphones connected' prompt from my Jaybird X3's when I'm listening to my iTunes Match collection directly from the AW (GPS). Never happens when I use my iPhone as the source. I'm curious if anyone is using PB3's and perhaps does not have this issue (when using the AW as the source) because of the W1 chip.

I don’t have Powerbeats 3 or Jaybird, but I can say that both my AirPod sand beatsx headphones (with the w1 chips) both hold a fantastic connection to my Apple Watch. I’ve never had them cut out at all, versus pretty regular cutouts with my previous Bluetooth headphones. In my experience, the connection is so much better than Bluetooth that I’ll likley only buy headphones with the w1 chip from now on.

Are you streaming iTunes Match or Apple Music directly from the AW to your Beats X?

I’m not technically streaming music. I download music to my watch from my phone and then listen to music from my watch to my headphones with no phone involved. Not sure if that changes anything for you

It does a bit because what I've found is that the BT connection (or at least something about it) causes the 'headphones connected' prompt occasionally during my workouts when streaming from the AW whereas I don't hear that ever when the headphones are streaming from my iPhone.

Not sure if we’re talking about the same streaming. I was referring to using the Apple Music app to stream music to the watch from the cloud. When I’m using the headphones bed with the watch, there is no phone involved. It’s just the watch and the BeatsX. But the music is stored locally on the watch, not streaming from the cloud.

No I got it. You scenario isn't a great comparison because you are streaming your headphones to locally stored music on your AW. I'd like to hear from someone, potentially, who is using a W1 chip BT headphone and streaming iTunes Match or Apple Music in iCloud from their AW.

I have a AW3 Lte and also have powerbeats 3 and the combo works great for the gym, either when im streaming via lte or just playing music locally on the watch both ways it works with no problem at all. Happy i don’t have to carry my phone everywhere in the gym...

Do you stream Apple Music or iTunes Match when on LTE?
