The thing that bothers me is trade in value. Last year it was $250. It’s showing $110 at the moment. I hope it just hasn’t updated for the S4’s.

It has the s5 chip but the same w3 and “2x performance over s3 chip” that the s4 chip had

I’m sure theres something else they did to make it “s5” moniker but performance wise seems to be the same as the s4

Basically looks to be the same just a rebranded chip (like original iPhone to iPhone 3G had the same processor)

The new display can update as infrequently as once per second, good for 'off mode' and low drain. Not sure it's worth $700-whatever for that, either...

I too wonder whether the 'S5' is truly new silicon or simply a rebranding of the prior chip. They *did* double the RAM, but it's not clear whether that would improve performance in terms of perceptible speed. And it's not like I'm worried about browser tabs having to refresh or not.

I *do* think that if it had a truly new chip with better performance they would've mentioned this. It would've taken 3 seconds to say "2x performance!"

Still, the black SS Hermes is interesting to me...

wait, they didn't upgrade the chip in this? lol.

They did, you just didn’t do any research. But I did:
