Hey y'all

**FYI-it's on public beta**

So yesterday I came back from a (sweaty) run, turn on the water lock, and hop in the shower. This a series of events I have literally done hundreds of times since I got the watch (many times forgetting the water lock) with zero issues. When I got out, and put it back on (I took it off to rinse it), I noticed the passcode screen didn't pop up like normal, and the screen was alternating from dim to bright in an inconsistent way. I unlocked it by using the iPhone and figured I'd just turn it off and turn it back on. Well, the side button seemed to not be working. Then, after a delay, the 'Power Off, SOS, Emergency' came on but was not responsive. This happened several times. I took the watch on and off seeing if I could get the passcode screen to work, and it did come up, but touch screen responsiveness was weird.

Finally, I did a hard restart by pushing both side buttons for 10 seconds. Got the apple logo, but then nothing. Figured I'd connect to charger to see what happens and now the apple logo is just blinking every few seconds.

There are no cracks anywhere for water to get inside the casing or anything so I doubt it's a water issue, although seems like an odd coincidence.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like the seal may have failed, and the innards are water damaged. I'd recommend bringing it to an Apple store for them to check out.

If you can, unpair/re-pair would be my next step.
And then try to remove the beta profile and do a factory reset (I do not know how exactly but would expect that Apple has some documentation on how to$
I’ve showered with my S4 for years daily and no issues, but, can’t rule that out.
I’m guessing you might not get much help from Apple since you’re on beta…

I’ve had it in rice for a couple of days just waiting for the battery to die all the way and see if placing it on the charger then has any effect. Right now the only thing it does is show the apple logo briefly after doing the hard restart. Grasping for straws now. Luckily I have my old series 4 still. The series 6 must be a lemon. I’ve taken showers in every AW since series 1 with no issues. Maybe the heat index being 106 on my run followed by a shower caused it? But again, that isn’t even rare where I live and never had issues before 🤷‍♂️

I wish you good luck. I took my immaculate and well looked after series 6 swimming for the first time and it started going crazy. Now won’t turn on. I have had a nightmare with Apple not wanting to do anything about it. The watch is 10 months old and still in warrantee . Bought from an Apple store too. I was put through to deal with someone senior, his lack of knowledge was appalling and actually told me that as soon as it leaves the factory, it effectively shouldn’t be used for swimming as micro cracks can form and get worse with wear. Just shocking. I asked exactly why it is still advertised as being suitable for swimming. I also requested that they take that part immediately down form the website if that was the case! I’d reached sarcasm point at this stage. I am now dealing with the store directly as they closed the case and said since the seal have been breached (sent photos) there is nothing they can do - this was obvious from the start since it started playing up immediately after getting out of the pool. I have had every Apple phone, watch, iPad etc over the years. A loyal customer for over 20 years. Just appalled by this. If this doesn’t get sorted I will be moving to pixel 6 as a matter of principal. I’ll keep fighting though. I would think carefully about using the watch while swimming unless you took out Apple care+.

I had to come back and update y'all on this...

So there were no changes to what my AW6 was doing since I created this thread...until a couple of days ago.

After a month of sitting on my bedside table and me randomly trying the force restart, randomly putting it on the charger for a while, randomly attempting force restart while on charger....nothing. It had been a few days since I last tried anything and figured I'd just go ahead and put in a drawer of misc. gadgetry I have. I tried all of the above one last time and nothing. Out of frustration, and for whatever reason, I purposefully dropped on my hardwood floors from about waist high almost hoping it'd break. No break, no damage. Tried force restart and the mother***** started up!

This CANNOT be a coincidence. I can't explain why this happened. A drop wasn't the initial reason for acting crazy so it's not as if I originally jarred something loose inside and then a similar fall jarred it back in place or something. Can someone smarter than me explain what happened???

Out of caution I have not gotten it wet since and work out in my old series 4, but it is working flawlessly. Wasn't going to upgrade to the series 7, but will definitely trade it in now just to get rid of it in case there is some unseen damage but, I just thought it was a very interesting and surprising development.

Long story short, I can confirm that treating your irresponsibly may be just what it needs!
