so my Series 7 so far has had worse battery life then my S6 @ 91% battery health. i would end my dad with about 62-68% battery for my S6, last two days with my S7 doing the same stuff ive ended with 50-55%. the S6 is 44mm and the S7 is the 45mm both are on watch os 8.0.1

I have heard bad things about battery life and 8.0.1. I’ve stayed on 8.0 and my S7 is so much better than my S5 - I got 26 hours on fri-sat, 27 last night and so far been off charger for 14 hours and 53%. Done a 3 mile dog walk today too steaming a podcast.

I’m not sure if watches index too - certainly mine was still installing apps etc for the first day so battery life took a bit of a hit.

My battery sucks so far too. I didn't wear my watch at all yesterday. Woke up with 76% battery life and it was dead by end of the day. My 6 used to last at least a day and a half

Had my Series 7 on for 2 and a half hours since I took it off my charging dock, so far today and I’m at 93% seems fine to me.

I just turned off all the background app refresh on most of my items so going to see if that helps mine.

At 5 hours of wearing time now and at 84% battery and I’m on 8.0.1, doesn’t seem like there’s an issue on every Series 7.

I restarted my watch and my phone. I also turned off some of the background apps. Now I have been wearing it for 4 hours and I am at 94%. So you could try those things and see if it helps.

I’d give it a few days to settle after pairing; it‘s still slowly transferring things like photos, texts, indexing your music library, etc.

I don’t understand what the problem is about 55% as Apple have never promised more than an 18 hour battery life. Anything more than is a bonus

I'm not saying it's bad just that it's worse then my old S6 watch and I was expecting it to be better as it has a fresh battery compared to my S6 which has 91% battery health

Yeah something isn't right here down to 40% after a 8 HR shift and it's only really been used for activity tracking that's about 20% less then my S6 watch doing the exact same

Came here to join in… battery life has been significantly worse than my previous Series 6 so far. Hoping it’s just software

Coming from an AWS5, i used to go 2 days solid with a good batter. i have had the AWS7 for about 5 days now, re-paired twice and battery seems to be lasting me 1 day....

i am going to wait now (just updated to watch os 8.1) a few days and see if things improve

Notice mine mostly with sleep tracking, easily losing 15-16% for 7-8 hours. S6 was about 7%. I am on 8.1.

mine is essentially the same as my older S6. you have to be careful you are comparing apples to apples (pardon the pun) because:

1. many people, including myself, "play" with my new watch more than normal when first getting a new one, this obviously causes an extra battery hit compared to my normal use.

2. the new watch may have different settings on compared to your old one, enabling battery consuming features that maybe you had disabled on the old one.

I'm getting at least as much runtime on the S7 as the S6. If you're not, have you updated to WOs 8.0.1 and restarted the watch? If you have, perhaps unpair (create a backup), and try setting up as new. You can always restore from the backup if it doesn't improve things.

I've been on watch is 8.1 and no improvements and even tried repairing as new and nothing changed

It is the AOD, for me I get very limited drop during the night while I have theatre mode on. It is even better than my AW5., But during the day and I turn on AOD that is a different story.

the AOD didnt drain the S6 that bad....... compared to the S7
