I have had my series 5 for two years now. I just recieved a 45mm series 7 yesterday.
My AW 5 is still working but I sometimes struggle with battery life, I guess too new Watch OS for it and age of the batteries. Must be up to 800-900 charge cycles now.
I have had some issues with my AW5:
1. Some third party notifications dont update
2. Communication between watch and iPhone 13 is sometimes very slow, ie HRV values sometimes takes very long time to appear on phone.

I realize the screen is somewhat better, but the difference is way too subtle. None of my issues above is fixed with a new watch.
I don't like to spend more than enough so I will return the AW7 and wait for the AW8, lets hope it will have a proper always on display and some nice to have sensor added.

Thanks, I have a 5 and the battery is degrading rapidly but have AC+ so will replace and hold out for the 8 (and the potential sports version).

I upgraded S5 44 mm to S7 45. The larger S7 is causing pain in my wrist, very little play room for it not to hit a nerve. my s5 is having lots of issues, spinning circles that drains my battery very quickly to almost nothing. Impairing my watch, solves it for awhile, but then I loose all my apps etc. I am looking at switching to the 41mm for a better fit.

i do LOVE the keyboard option for texting. I used it a couple of times the other day. That is the main feature I love on the new watch.

I went from S5 to S7 and I don't notice much difference as well. You can check your battery health on the watch, if it's below 80% you can get it replaced, you will basically get a brand new S5. It's worth doing it.
