Oh that’ll be nice! I currently have the black aluminium Series 4 whose colour I prefer over the titanium look of the Ultra. Not a great fan of shiny. The black scratch resistant Diamond Like Coating that the Space black steel and titanium Apple Watches have.
Apparently I wasn’t paying attention because I didn’t know the CPU used has been the same for the past several years. Ugh. Hmm. I’m using the Series 4 which is working fine (replaced twice) but upgrading to a CPU that’s several years old is less enticing.100% they will have a "stealth" version next year with DLC coated titanium, they already had dark titanium. My guess is they had supply issues with the bands already in only one finish, so to add another would have been really complex on the supply chain side (Also not knowing the demand for the Ultra going into it.)
Also throw in a titanium link band option (A new design, with a quick adjustment clasp for diving) to increase the average sale price and give Ultra 1 owners something new to buy.
As for hardware...I'd say finally a new CPU (AW CPU has been the same for 3 generations now), mainly focused on battery life gains.
The rest will be software. Recovery metrics. Offline maps and routing.
So basically get rid of the two things that helped make it the most durable.Get rid of the horrible crown lump and make bezels smaller and actually have a bigger screen than 45mm
Ok, I like some of these suggestions:A couple of key improvements needed:
- Improve the battery life even further.
- Expand on the widgets so that you can see more metrics from the Fitness app on the main screen. It is actually embarrassing that Apple markets this as a health and fitness watch but doesn't have a complication for distance/steps covered.
- Minimize the bezels as much as possible instead of making minor iterations every year just to sell new 'versions' of the same product
- Give us a black version.
- Actually give good looking straps that don't take forever to put on
- Make it slightly thinner
Hmm.. I take @Kylo83's indication of "bezels" to mean the black space between the titanium ring and where the display pixels begin. If they can decrease that bezel to increase the display size, that would be great. So basically get rid of the two things that helped make it the most durable.
Right.
