AW12 black finish

Is it me or is the black on the new watch back to a matte finish?

I have a Series 6 and it is a matte finish but have stayed away from the recent updates because I didn't like the shiny black.

I believe it is matte now which is a shame if you were a fan of polished. Series 10/11 had jet black which was polished and finally looked similar to when stainless steel was offered in black. Super classy and I thought it really made the aluminum watch look a lot more premium.
